NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin PAC Announces 2008 Endorsements for State Legislature

Posted: 10/01/2008

Madison, WI – NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin PAC, the political leader of the reproductive rights movement, today announced their endorsements for the Wisconsin State Legislature.

“We are pleased to offer our support for these tremendous candidates for the Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly,” said Carmen Marg-Patton, Political Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin PAC. “These leaders share our values of freedom, privacy and personal responsibility, and will bring a common-sense, ‘prevention first’ approach to reproductive health policy.”

This past year, Wisconsin made tremendous strides towards protecting women’s reproductive rights with the passage of the Compassionate Care for Rape Victims bill (AB 377). This success was due in large part to the new pro-choice majority in the State Senate and the 2006 pro-choice gains in the State Assembly.

“The passage of Compassionate Care shows that elections matter,” said Marg-Patton. “We need to continue to elect candidates who will protect women’s access to birth control, family planning services and legal, safe abortion.”
