I got pregnant at a very young age, and was not at all ready for children.

Modified: 03/11/2008

I got pregnant at a very young age, and was not at all ready for children. I unfortunately was not informed about sexuality education by my parents nor my school. It was a very scary time for me and I was unsure of what to do. I was afraid that if I continued with the pregnancy, I would not graduate from school, and I would also not be able to give the emotional and financial support that a baby would need. I made the difficult decision to have an abortion. Although it was very hard for me and was a very emotional time for me, looking back now I know I made the right choice. That was 15 years ago and I am now a parent to 3 beautiful boys that I love and cherish. I believe that the choice for abortion is a women's right and should not be taken from us. I can not imagine how my life would have been if that option was not there for me or where I would be now. We need to keep this fight going. We can not go back to the times of back alley abortions, women getting infections because they were afraid of the consequences of their choice.
