I'm from a time that celebrated women's rights
My story is that when I was in High School, I had a very good sex ed class. I learned about all my options. I learned about Planned Parenthood. I grew up in a time unlike now. I graduated from high school in 1979. I had a teacher who wasn't afraid to say anything. She constantly stressed contraception. She felt it was the best way to avoid unintended pregnancy. She talked about the possible STD's - this was before AIDS. She also talked about abortion, if that's what you chose and where to get one. In fact, when I left home at 19, I went down to Planned Parenthood and got my birth control pills from there. I knew I didn't want children so I planned ahead and avoided unwanted pregnancy. I'm still pro-choice and still believe in a woman's rights that took place in the 1970s. I hate today's current atmosphere. I don't understand it because I never lived in a time like this before... I'm from a time that celebrated women's rights, a woman's right to enjoy sex and a woman's individuality. I'm still standing up for women's rights. ~Colleen
