Letter to the Editor Team
Join the Letter to the Editor Team! We will send you sample letters when we have active letter campaigns and information about where to submit your letters. Click here to fill out our online Volunteer Form and sign up for the Letter to the Editor Team. Studies show that Letters to the Editor sections are among the most-read parts of a newspaper. You can be sure that elected officials – or their staff members – read those sections regularly. Letters to the editor are free and relatively easy to submit. As a result, such letters can be effective ways of influencing public opinion (and the votes of policymakers who pay close attention to public opinion).
After you submit your letter, watch the newspaper to see if your letter is printed. If your letter is printed, share a copy with NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin. Send it to 122 State Street, Suite 308, Madison WI 53703 or communications@prochoicewisconsin.org and we will add it to the Choice in the News section of our website. Don’t be discouraged if your letter isn’t published. Numerous letters on a particular topic can alert editors to the importance of a particular story and improve the chances that at least one of the letters on that particular topic will be published.
