Elections Intern
Description:The Elections Intern will work to complete the preliminary work to ensure pro-choice candidates are elected in the Fall 2008 election. Much of the focus of the internship will be creating an election message and training and managing volunteers. This position offers the opportunity to learn how political campaigns operate. Responsibilities include: • Develop election message • Write statewide electronic communications • Recruit, train and manage volunteers • Lead phone banks • Research on candidates • Other tasks depending on the interns interests and NPCW's needs. Qualifications: • Must be fully pro-choice and committed to ensuring all women have access to the full range of reproductive health care including abortion • Excellent research and writing skills • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel • Excellent verbal communication skills • The ability to work independently, creatively, multi-task and pay attention to detail Hours: 12-15 hours per week during business hours and at night. Unpaid, but staff will work with intern to obtain college credit.
