Victory! Compassionate Care Bill Passed
We did it! The Compassionate Care for Rape Victims Bill passed through the final legislative hoopin the Assembly. The bill requires all Wisconsin hospital emergency rooms to provide rape victims with information about and access to emergency contraception. Currently, only one-third of the hospitals in Wisconsin dispense emergency contraception without exception. Our work made a big difference! NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin and its supporters like you have been working to pass this bill since it was first introduced five years ago. Together, in just this session, we have: - Collected 4,638 petition signatures
- Held face-to-face conversations with 2,631 students statewide
- Contacted 3,126 voters through our Voice for Choice phone banks
- Submitted 89 letters to the editor
- Sent 808 emails to our state legislators
