Fulfilling our commitment to use the political process to guarantee reproductive rights and privacy for every woman, NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin will recruit and include a diverse group of individuals with respect to race, ethnicity, color, religion, age, gender, gender identity or expression, degree of physical ability, national origin, sexual orientation, marital or familial status, political affiliation, economic means, and educational status. We recognize that we are accountable to our diverse constituencies; therefore, we will promote the input and participation of all groups so that many voices will be heard over time.

NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin History
In 1982, seven pro-choice activists in Milwaukee concerned about Wisconsin's restrictive abortion laws, formed a new grassroots political organization that would solely work to protect every woman's right to choose safe and legal abortion.  The Wisconsin Pro-Choice Conference was established to educate and activate Wisconsinites about abortion rights.  It was a leader in the Milwaukee Clinic Protection Coalition, recruiting, organizing and training about 5,000 volunteers for clinic protection and peaceful counter-protests during the peak of the anti-choice movement's violent period.  In the late 1980s, the Conference affiliated with NARAL, expanding its efforts to secure reproductive rights using the political process to advocate for change.  NARAL Wisconsin shifted from being a Milwaukee-centered group to a statewide organization.  Today, NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin is a key grassroots reproductive rights organization in Wisconsin, with many organizing, political and educational successes to our credit.  While our programs, stature, and political influence have grown tremendously, our mission and values remain the same.  We operate on a small budget and are proud to be a membership and volunteer-driven organization, focused on local grassroots organizing for reproductive justice, and in particular on empowering traditionally marginalized communities.  We work creatively, collaboratively, and efficiently to activate and train new leaders in the reproductive rights movement.
